- 10th birthday parties were a big do in my family. There was this children's tv personality that my father got to compere all our parties. For my party I had a princess cake, barbeque, a hand puppet show, live dj and over 300 kids and adults. The only problem; I was such a shy child that I hid in the corner for the duration of the party. I didn't even come out to dance
- I spent the 6 years of my secondary school (equivalent of 7th grade to end of high school) in a boarding school. I lived in the school during school term and went home only for midterms and holidays. I loved it. My school was also girls only and there was such a variety in our backgrounds, that's where I learnt to be independent and relate to a wide gamut of people. I always figured out that it was such a life-lesson experience for me that I used to say by the time I was forty, I wanted all my children to be over 10 years old and in boarding school so I could have my house & husband to myself. Life's little ironies eh, I'm 31 so I don't think that's going to work out quite as planned.
- I know (almost) every line from the movie "Sound of Music" and if you get me started, I can recite the whole movie for you.
Maria: (nods smiling) Yes Captain!
Captain von Trapp: I see. And where may I ask did they get these..em..these..em? (dan
gles head scarf with a disgusted look on his face)
Maria: Playclothes!
Captain von Trapp: Oh is that what you call them?!
Maria: I made them. From the drapes that used to hang in my bedroom.
Captain von Trapp: (incredulously) Drapes?
Maria: They still have plenty wear left. The children have been everywhere
Captain von Trapp: Do you mean to tell me that my children have been running around Salzburg dressed up in nothing but some old drapes
Maria: Hmn Hmm (Nods) And having a marvelous time
Captain von Trapp: THEY HAVE UNIFORMS!
Maria: Strait jackets if you'll forgive me blah, blah blah "and they lived happily ever after"
I'll stop now. If you're still reading, consider yourself tagged.
